SCRANTON, Pa. — People will have to find other paths or trails as the Lake Scranton Reservoir will be temporarily off-limits to the public for a week.
The walking path at the lake will be closed starting Friday, December 8, for work along the area of the roadway.
Crews will begin to trim trees and pave areas of the roadway until the expected date of completion on Friday, December 15. The path will reopen to the public the following day.
The path has been closed from Route 307 to the access at Lakeview Drive since early November to replace a water line that runs along the trail. Work is still underway in that area and is expected to be completed in 2024.
Guests are reminded not to walk around closed gates or fencing to access the path. Walkers are encouraged to explore Dunmore Reservoir #1, which will be open as usual during this period.
