HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — Authorities confirm the victim in a deadly shooting in Monroe County was not the intended target.
We’ve also learned that besides the three people already facing charges, state police expect to make more arrests.
According to court papers, the shooting early Tuesday near Stroudsburg was the result of a drug deal gone bad.
Less than 24 hours after the shooting, state police had three under arrest. Bruce Murray, 23, of Tobyhanna, Jacqueline Harrigan, 20, of East Stroudsburg, and Dygunn Mitchell, 16, from East Stroudsburg.
The trio were charged in connection with an alleged drive-by shooting on Timber Road in Hamilton Township at a mobile home park that left bullet holes in the place and one man dead.
The victim: Darcey “Chip” Kravchenko. It was his son Brandon that court papers indicate the group came looking for after a friend was ripped off in a drug deal.
Those arrest papers go on to say that Harrigan told the group that
“Brandon was not there but the guy who robbed me is inside.
“The black male told her to drive past the house and the shooting began as they drove past the scene.”
It wasn’t until police responded that they found Darcey Kravchenko in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to the head.
On Wednesday, you could see blood splattered below the window where Kravchenko was found, a bullet hole pierced the window.
When police interviewed Murray, he told them that immediately after firing “Mitchell said he saw someone at the window, shot at the glass and broke the glass window.”
“My dad got up to check what was going on and he ended up getting shot and killed. I never thought something like that would happen to my family, let alone my dad. He had nothing to do with it. He didn’t deserve to die” said the victim’s daughter Anyssa Kravchenko.
Court papers also say another man by the first name of Simon also fired at the home. There’s no word on his whereabouts or if state police plan to charge another woman who they say was involved, Kaylynn Bunnell.
