History of the hatchery | On The Pennsylvania Road

The facility in Wayne County has been raising fish since 1903.

PLEASANT MOUNT, Pa. — Last week's stop On The Pennsylvania Road taught us a science lesson on fish spawning.

Now, Jon Meyer is taking us back to the Pleasant Mount State Fish Hatchery in Wayne County for a look at its 120-year history and the unique jobs of the people working there.

Pennsylvania's statewide opening day of Trout Season will be Saturday, April 6. A single statewide Mentored Youth Trout Day will take place on Saturday, March 30. Stocking of state waterways is underway.
