A visit to the fish hatchery | On The Pennsylvania Road

Newswatch 16's Jon Meyer shows us how some of the biggest fish in the state get their start here in our area.

PLEASANT MOUNT, Pa. — Spring has arrived and that has anglers anxious to start casting their lines.

But this week also starts the spawning season for some types of fish and a busy time of year at the Pleasant Mount State Fish Hatchery in Wayne County.

Jon Meyer got a science lesson in this week's stop On The Pennsylvania Road.

Pennsylvania's statewide opening day of Trout Season will be Saturday, April 6. A single statewide Mentored Youth Trout Day will take place on Saturday, March 30. Stocking of state waterways is underway.
