911 outages reported in several counties

Officials are advising people in need of emergency assistance to contact their nearest police, fire, or EMS station directly.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Several counties are reporting outages affecting 911. According to various officials, Carbon, Columbia, Clinton, Monroe, Montour, Northumberland, Susquehanna, Schuylkill, Synder, Wayne, and Union counties are impacted. 

Local fire stations are staffed, and officials recommend contacting them directly or going to your nearest police or fire station if you are in need of assistance. 

In Columbia and Montour Counties, you can contact the following backup numbers:

In Monroe County, you can text 9-1-1, or call 570-992-9911. If you receive a busy signal, you are asked to keep trying. 

Officials say technicians are working to resolve these outages as quickly as possible.
