PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Newswatch 16 viewers have called and emailed about the lights in the sky Wednesday evening.
Our Stormtracker 16 meteorologists explained that the lights are Jupiter and Venus, which are visible due to what's called a conjunction, meaning the two planets appear close to Earth as they begin to pass each other.
NASA scientists explained that the two brightest planets, Venus and Jupiter, appeared just half a degree apart, 17 degrees above the western horizon, as evening twilight ended, and set together around 8:31 p.m.
