PennDOT reduces speeds on roads across Northeast Pennsylvania

See what roads in your area have lower speed limits due to the snow.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Due to the severity of the winter storm, PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit to 45 mph and restricting commercial vehicles to the right lane only on the following interstates:

  • Interstate 81 from Dunmore to the New York state line in Lackawanna and Susquehanna counties.
  • Interstate 84 in Lackawanna, Wayne, and Pike counties.
  • Interstate 380 in Lackawanna and Wayne counties.

There are also restrictions in place for empty tractor-trailers on those highways.

Penndot says they will be lifted when conditions allow.
