Wyoming Area Field Hockey defeats Lake-Lehman 3-2 in OT to take home the District II "A" Field Hockey Championship.

Wyoming Area gets redemption after falling in the championship game last year.

KINGSTON, Pa. — The Wyoming Area Girls Field Hockey team got redemption from last season, defeating Lake-Lehman 3-2 in overtime to win the District II Class A Field Hockey Championship.

Senior, Lyla Rehill scored the game winning goal with a little over five minutes remaining in the over time period. On the corner play, Lucia Campenni passed it perfectly to Rehill, who then made a move around a Lady Knight to get the ball in the cage.

"My team, they played great the entire game," said Rehill. "We had a play call that was a corner. I was to beat the fly and I knew I couldn't let anyone down. I knew I had to put the ball in the cage," Rehill said.

Lake-Lehman got out to the early lead, scoring two goals in the first half. Isabella Decesaris had both goals for the Lady Knights.

The Lady Knights still led 2-0 at the start of the fourth quarter. However, as soon as the Lady Warriors got one goal in, the momentum shifted their way.

Lucia Campenni and Ainsley Flynn each had a goal the quarter to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Rehill took care of the rest, helping her team claim the championship title to cap off a perfect 18-0 season.
