Redshirt Sophomore quarterback, Beau Pribula, announced on his social media Sunday evening that he plans on entering the transfer portal.
The York County native makes his announcement just days before Penn State is scheduled to play in the school's first ever College Football Playoff game.
Pribula stating in his announcement, "the current NCAA post-season model creates a challenge for student-athletes. The overlapping CFB Playoff & Transfer portal timeline has forced me into an impossible decision."
Pribula has stepped in admirably for the Nittany Lions when called upon. He's completed 26-35 pass attempts this season (74.3%), for 275 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Pribula also added a dual-threat ability to the offense, rushing for 242 yards and four touchdowns.
Pribula has been used intermittently in the offense throughout the season, specifically for run plays. He also saw heavy playing time in the Nittany Lions 28-13 win over Wisconsin, leading them to victory after starting QB, Drew Allar, was injured in the first half. Pribula completed 11-13 attempts for 98 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 28 yards in that game.
Pribula will not be with the team when they host the SMU Mustangs this Saturday in the first round of the new College Football Playoff format.
