BLAKELY, Pa. — Blakely is taking the gym outside with a new outdoor fitness court at Blakely Borough Park. The fitness court is designed for people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels. And the best part? It's free and open to the public.
"There's no membership. The app is free. You just show up here, the app is free. It's just seven minutes. You can get a good heartrate going in seven minutes and if you want to do multiples you can do multiples," Blakely Borough Manager Chris Paone said.
Chris Paone is Blakely's Borough Manager. He says the fitness court has been in the works for about a year and the grand opening is tomorrow. To get the most out of your workout, you download the Fitness Court app and choose your ability level.
"Gives you a full video of the movement. You workout for 45 seconds, 15 seconds off, you move on to the next movement. It's very easy to use the app and it's for all levels," Paone said.
There are various exercise stations in the park geared towards both beginner and elite athletes.
"This is a great place. It's a great spot to get a quick workout in," Bobby Wolfel said.
Bobby Wolfel of Moosic spent some time working out at the park.
"The videos are very instructional. The movements are not that complicated and it's very easy to perform," Wolfel said.
Blakely Borough Park is open from 6am-10pm and you can use the outdoor fitness park during those hours.
