KINGSLEY, Pa. — The Summer Olympics in Paris have inspired some athletes here at home to compete in games of their own.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted a backyard Olympics competition Sunday night in Kingsley, Susquehanna County.
Activities included a kayak relay race, a nine-hole bucket golf course, cornhole and spike ball.
Athletes from around the area showed up to have some fun.
“We have students here from Mountain View, Montrose, Abington Heights. So normally, when we're on the field or court, we're competing against each other,” said Frank Passetti. “Now we're on the same teams working together with one another and it helps build some camaraderie outside the sport.”
The 2024 Summer Olympic Games continue through next week in Paris.
