BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — It was Bloomsburg University as the host site for the District IV Cross Country Championships and just a beautiful day to go out for a run. The Girl's "A" race was Gracelyn Laudermilch from Northeast Bradford defeating Kate Moncavage from Southern Columbia. It was the Panthers with the District "A" champion in 18:58 and they also brought home the team title.
“Kate is an absolutely amazing runner. I love racing her I mean you can't ask for better competition and I am so blessed to have her in the race,” said Gracelyn.
In the "2A" race Baylee Espinosa from Lewisburg outdistanced the field and came home as a champion. The winning time for the Green Dragons 18:20. The Danville girls took the team title.
“I have really been working on getting out at that range that I got in and being able to feel good about that. It felt very warm, but I mean we trained all summer in that,” said Baylee.
The Boy's "A" race was probably the race of the day between Creed from Northeast Bradford and Oliver Heintzelman from Northwest Area.
And in the end it was Creed prevailing with a victory in 16:30 and exhausted from his efforts.
Boy's "AA" Jonathan Hess the junior from Lewisburg would not be denied that district championship.
15:45 the winning time and immediately fell into the arms of his mother Jessica.
“If you ever saw Thomas after he won the 4x800 his sophomore year he was talking about me Dad and my parents probably play the biggest role in my running career,” said Jonathan.
