Max Kranick ended the night on Thursday with his 15th strikeout of the game for the 1-0 Valley View win over Scranton Prep in a high-school baseball game in Archbald.
Kranick walked the first batter of the game and stranded him at third by striking out the side in the first inning. He added another three strikeouts in the 2nd inning and another walk-his last of the day. Still Scranton Prep and Tyler Stafursky went toe-to-toe with the Cougar ace by pitching a gem also.
In the bottom of the 3rd inning in a scoreless game Cavalier right fielder Kevin Sampel robbed Kranick of an extra-base hit. Then in the 4th inning Stafursky surrended his first hit of the day with a solid hit to left, but would shut the door there allowing no runs to score.
In the top of the 5th inning Kranick's no-hitter ended with a solid hit to left, and after hitting a batter Kranick added three more strikeouts to make his total 13 after 5.
In the 6th Kranick got the Cavaliers to fly out twice and then put one more "K" on the board for 14 in the game.
Rocco Depietro put the Cougars ahead with a bloop single to left scoring Kranick to make it 1-0 Valley View in the bottom of the 6th.
Kranick ened the game in the top of the 7th with his 15 strikeout of the game preserving the 1-0 win.
Valley View is at Scranton high-school on Monday. The Knights have been playing some of their games at Connell Park due to poor field conditions.
