You have to go back to October 28th, 2011 the last regular season loss for the Southern Columbia Tigers. Friday night at home they put their 50 game winning streak on the line against the (7-2) Selinsgrove Seals.
"We'll an undefeated regular season is special. I mean we've had a few recently but it's still a special accomplishment and most of these players we're not part of the past couple seasons," said Jim.
Freshman like Julian Fleming, Gaige Garcia, and Ty Roadarmel are contributing to a unit with senior talent allowing the Tigers to be perfect at (9-0).
"They've just been playing at a tremendous level and they've been helping the team out and that's pretty much what we've asked from them," said Hunter Thomas.
"It's extremely important to me, not only me but the community. We have a 50 some game winning streak now so not only are we fighting for an undefeated season but to keep the streak going," said Garrett.
For Coach Roth he is in his 33rd season here at Southern Columbia. He just picked up career win 390 . Obviously a lot of great players, certainly some great game plans in there, and a great staff to go along with it. They total 138 years of coaching experience that averages out to 19 years a piece helping Coach Roth and the Tigers earn their 7th state title last season.
"That's one of the area's that is key to having that kind of consistency is having a staff that has been around for a long time, and having assistant coaches that have been in the program for a number of years," added Jim Roth.
"Our coaches know their stuff. It's an honor to play for Coach Roth, and Coach Mills and everything like that," said Cameron Young.
"I mean it's crazy to have a dynasty of coaches like this. All these coaches they are just a tremendous help to everyone. If you really want to learn how to play football you come here and these guys definitely teach how to," again said Hunter.
