MINERSVILLE, Pa. — Minersville won 28-12 over Marian Catholic last Friday night at Blue Mountain High-School to capture the District XI "A" football championship. Their first title since the 2003 season. Running back Luke Stevenosky is now the all-time leading rushing leader in school history with 3,962 yards. He will need to have another monster game this Friday night back at Blue Mountain High-School when the Battlin' Miners face the District II "A" champion Lackawanna Trail and that wing-t offense. Trail is coached by Steve Jervis with his son at quarterback.
