McGloin, along with other NFL players and Penn state football players appeared at the "Tailgate for Kids' at Saint Mary's center in Scranton on Saturday.
Southern Columbia grad and New York Giants fullback Henry Hynoski was also there.
The event benefits the Children's Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The center treats children who are victims of abuse and neglect.
Kids could get autographs and take pictures with the players.
There was also plenty of food, games and raffles.
McGloin says the cause is one that is close to his heart.
"Anytime its with children and I'm big on giving back to children. That's one of the things that really sticks out for me is that so like I said you reach out to so many people, you touch so many lives," said McGloin. "Today you see so many children and hear their stories. So you know, I'm happy to do it and so are my friends as well."
The event continues on into Saturday night with a private reception at Saint Mary's Center in Scranton.
