SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — For the last two weeks hundreds of people from all over the United States and around the world came to South Williamsport for the Little League World Series.
20 teams came to the tournament to play America's past time in Lamde and Volunteer Stadiums.
Scott Exford and his son drove four and a half hours from New York for the championship game between international champion Chinese Taipei and the United States champ, Florida.
"Just the excitement of all of the fans and watching the kids and experience the coaching at this level and being able to compete with the international teams," said Scott Exford, Lowville, New York.
"Because, you know, everybody comes around the world for this Little League World Series, and it's not for a bad reason. It's for—it's exciting, and I'm just excited to see everybody come together as America to watch America's pastime," said Donovan Exford, Lowville, New York.
Denim Kurtzhals came from Chester County and was rooting for one team in particular in the championship game.
"Seeing Florida this morning and seeing how well they do, yeah, the atmosphere is awesome here, right?" Denim Kurtzhals, Chester County.
Christina Steinbacher-Reed used to come to the Little League World Series with her Dad when she was little. She now brings her family and going to the event is a tradition for them.
"Now that we're coming as adults and we really spend time getting to know families who are coming here, so we love to hear their stories, where they're traveling from, get to know the teams pretty well, so this year I got to know the family that was coming in from Nevada and hearing their story a little bit more," said Christina Steinbacher-Reed, Williamsport.
People Newswatch 16 spoke with say they're already looking forward to next year's event.
