Florida Little Leaguer has ties to Northeastern Pennsylvania

Little League players and their families come from all over the world. But one athlete's family has ties to Northeastern Pennsylvania.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — "I just came to watch him play; it's been an incredible run. We started in January with Lake Mary Little League, and this is the culmination of all that hard work from the summer," Michael Bolsar, Luis' Grandfather.

Michael Bolsar grew up in the Peckville Jessup area and graduated from Valley View High School in 1988. Bolsar moved to Florida 20 years ago.

His grandson, Luis Calo, frequently visits the Peckville Jessup area and is now playing in the Little League World Series.

"We went 4-wheeling with my sister and my cousins—or my nieces and nephews and they love that, I think they love that more than playing the baseball—go up in the mountains on the 4-wheelers and stuff," said Bolsar.

Luis' great-grandfather owns Saint George's restaurant in Jessup. Luis' Aunt, Leanne Butka, tells us her nephew's favorite part of visiting Northeastern PA is the food.

"When they come to Pennsylvania, a lot of the stuff is that the food is so much better than Florida, and Saint George's is great—yeah, yeah, pizza's no good in Florida," said Leanne Butka, Luis' Great Aunt.

Butka says watching Luis play in the Little League World Series is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

"He battled back last night, and he was so amazing like I can't even tell you it was like the best feeling just to like, you know, it's so much better that we know someone that's here and like we love him so much like it is amazing," said Butka.
