See a 360-degree view of the total solar eclipse | Jeremy's Journeys

Meteorologist Jeremy Lewan shot a panoramic video from onboard an eclipse cruise. With this perspective, it feels like you're right onboard watching with him!

MAZATLAN, Sinaloa — Didn't have the chance to see totality during this month's eclipse? Jeremy has you covered. He used a 360° camera to record the entire event so that you can experience what it was like onboard the M.S. Zaandam on the morning of April 8th.

There are two versions of the 360° video, and they are both best viewable with the following YouTube links. If using a computer, use your mouse to drag around the photo to change your perspective. Pull down to look up at the eclipsed sun, swipe up to see the passengers on the top deck. If using your smartphone, orient your device horizontally to make the video full screen, and move your device to see the video as if you're standing there looking around.

To watch in the best quality, toggle your video quality settings by tapping the gear (⚙) icon in the top right corner, select "Quality" and choose "Higher picture quality."

Below, you can watch the time-lapsed version, in which the time preceding and following totality are sped up and the entirety of totality is slowed down. In the first few seconds of the time-lapse video, you can see the moon's shadow racing toward the ship. Look for a circular dark spot in the sky approaching from the back of the ship.

Below, you can watch the full, over 30-minute experience, where you can see about 15 minutes prior to totality, totality itself, and 15 minutes following totality.
