HARRISBURG, Pa. — Gov. Josh Shapiro is trying to make it easier to find a job with the state.
The governor signed an executive order to expand internship and apprenticeship programs for those who want a career in public service. It happened during a job fair at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg on Monday.
The executive order allows the state to create new opportunities and benefit programs to help recruit government workers.
"For example, under this order, we are creating a pilot program that will offer financial incentives to recruit Pennsylvanians who speak multiple languages," Gov. Shapiro said.
The Shapiro administration says 25 percent of all state employees will hit retirement age in the next five years.
