HARRISBURG, Pa. — There is a lot to see and do at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. This year's show celebrates how agriculture is connecting our communities.
"We just love to walk around and explore. We do have a farm and are just looking to learn a little more and explore all of what Pennsylvania has to offer," Karen Ritter of Factoryville said.
The thousands of animals are always a big draw.
Ann Brezgel of Herndon brought her grandkids.
"Oh, we love this! This is like the highlight, seeing the cows. We have three of our own, but seeing more is even better," Brezgel said.
Baby goat snuggling is back, as well as many other furry favorites.
"We like all the equine activities that they have here. We came and watched some of the horse pulling, and we also watched some of the alpaca and llama show," Corey Woodley of Williamsport said.
Salted caramel is the new milkshake flavor this year. Many of the food stands had long lines throughout the day.
Rahn Troutman manages the booth for the Pennsylvania Cooperative Potato Growers. Potato doughnuts are their specialty.
"Baked potatoes and the French fries, of course, our fresh-cut fries. We're also doing pierogies and potato cakes," Troutman said.
"It's just really cool to meet people from literally everywhere in the state. It draws tons of people from all over," Caitlin Eroh said.
Caitlin Eroh owns Stitches in Bloom, based in Bloomsburg. This is her second year as a vendor at the Farm Show.
"Last year was a really wonderful year. People really came out to support the Farm Show, support Pennsylvania agriculture, and I was super excited to be able to participate in this again this year," Eroh said.
