PENNSYLVANIA, USA — The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program application for the 2024-25 season will open on Monday.
Applications will be open from November 4 to April 4, and households must apply each year to be eligible.
LIHEAP is a program funded by DHS that helps qualified Pennsylvanians pay their home heating bills during the winter; assistance is available for renters and homeowners.
Assistance will be in cash or crisis grants directly to a household's utility company or home heating fuel provider; the minimum cash grant is $200, and the maximum is $1,000.
Individuals or families do not have to repay assistance; individuals and households may receive one cash grant per LIHEAP season.
Pennsylvanians who qualify for a crisis grant can receive a minimum of $25 and a maximum of $1,000.
If more than one emergency occurs, households can apply and be eligible for more than one crisis grant, up to a $1,000 maximum.
