PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Eight employees across Pennsylvania were sentenced for abusing animals on several farms.
The Pennsylvania State Police announced animal cruelty charges against 11 people for alleged inhumane treatment of turkeys at seven farms across central and southeastern Pennsylvania in 2022. That includes a facility in Union County.
A Union County court concluded that "Plainville Brands cannot be held liable for the actions of their employees" because, in part, no supervisors were notified of the abuse, according to PETA.
Eight employees entered guilty pleas and were sentenced to probation, during which they were prohibited from working with animals. A ninth pleaded no contest.
