MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — UPDATE: John Christy, Sharon Laverdure, and David Parker are the projected winners for the Monroe County commissioner seats.
The Monroe County commissioner race will look to fill all three county commissioner seats.
Democrats John Christy and Sharon Laverdure are the incumbents this year, both fighting for another term.
Republicans David Parker and Christine Wilkins, both of whom have a background in local politics, are looking to form a new GOP majority.
According to the county's office of elections, so far, more than 9,000 of the 13,390 mail-in Ballots sent out have been returned.
Due to it being an off-season election, the office expects only 19 percent of eligible voters to visit the polls.
