SAN FRANCISCO — Actor Wayne Northrop, best known for his roles in "Dynasty," "Days of Our Lives" and "L.A. Law" died at 77, according to multiple reports.
He died in his Los Angeles home with family years after being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's, according to Deadline.
“He was a wonderful, kind man, a talented, generous actor and a beloved member of the Days family,” wrote Alison Sweeney who played Samantha "Sami" Brady on the NBC soap opera. “I learned so much from working with Wayne and will treasure the memories with him. Rest in peace, Wayne.”
He appeared in over 1,000 episodes of Days of Our Lives playing Roman Brady and Dr. Alex North between 1981 and 2006, according to IMDb.
Northrop’s career began in the late '70s before he was cast as Michael Culhane in Dynasty from 1981 through 1987. He appeared in 35 episodes in that time.
He is survived by Lynn Herring, his wife of 43 years and their two sons.
