NOXEN, Pa. — The first night of this year's Noxen Rattlesnake Round-up Fundraiser is in the books in Wyoming County.
Hunters have begun searching the woods for the biggest snakes they can find, competing for different prizes. It's the Noxen Volunteer Fire Company's largest fundraiser of the year.
The round-up also features music, food, games, rides, and vendors. The snakes are taken back to the woods after they're shown off at the fairgrounds. People tell Newswatch 16 they enjoy seeing the snakes, but come back year after year for the community.
"I think it really goes a long way to help support the community. I actually knew a couple people in the fire department here, so I know that it goes a long way with them as well," said Aaron Pluchinsky of Dallas.
The Rattlesnake Round-up runs through Sunday in Noxen.
