WYOMING COUNTY, Pa. — "I just got shoe polish. It just wrote on the window. You know, like, I said that to my wife, and she's like, what? Shoe polish? I'm like, it's a high school thing," said Tim Robinson of The Endless Mountain to Mountain Relief Run.
There is a countdown to gather more supplies for the October 16th trip, which Tim Robinson of Wyoming County plans to bring to North Carolina to areas struck by Hurricane Helene.
"Yeah. The generosity blows you away sometimes," said Robinson. "Those things that just, it was just heavy on my heart. You know, it's like, you know, I may have problems, and my business may be slow, but, you know, like, it's not as bad as losing everything randomly. I mean, these are people that live in the mountains just like us."
The Endless Mountain to Mountain Relief Run all started with a man who wanted to fill his van with blankets, boots, medical supplies, and other necessities for those in need.
"But the number one need is going to be winterized products, batteries, generators," said Robinson.
Robinson says support has come far and wide from across our area, filling his van to capacity.
"I have a batch of formula coming tomorrow from Amazon," said Robinson. "I bought it in bulk cause it's very expensive."
But even though his trip has yet to start, he's already hit a few roadblocks.
"They're coming in, which is great," said Robinson. "But they're coming in at such a fast speed that since I started this, my drop-off spot has changed about 10 different times."
Undeterred, Robinson and his wife continue to prepare.
"I'm not saying this will be my last trip. I, I have no idea," said Robinson.
For a trip that will take the charity of so many at home to those who need it most.
"You have to start somewhere, and you wanna do something, and this is something," said Robinson.
