NICHOLSON, Pa. — Officials cut the ribbon on Friday for a new senior housing facility in Wyoming County.
Bridgeview Commons in Nicholson has 12 units for seniors—ten one-bedroom apartments and a pair of two-bedroom units.
The $4 million project offers a view of the Tunkhannock Viaduct, also known as the Nicholson Bridge.
Officials said the project has been in the works since 2012. Ground was broken, and construction began last year.
"This is a wonderful thing for Nicholson. This area needed housing very, very bad. These 12 new units are going to help our elderly and help our population problem with the lack of housing," said Wyoming County Commissioner Rick Wilbur.
Folks can apply to live at Bridgeview Commons through applications by applying online or calling the Trehab Development Agency at 570 278-5238.
