TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. — It's back-to-school season, and it can get stressful.
That's why a community in Wyoming County hosted a back-to-school bash today.
All kinds of snacks and treats were available for kids at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home in Tunkhannock today.
That wasn't all, backpacks filled with school supplies were handed out.
And kids could even get a free haircut.
The organizers say the planning started just a week ago, and it quickly turned into a large event with the help of other businesses.
"So we decided, well how can give back to our community? Not only the adults but the kids, and so we thought, well what better way than to do a little backpack giveaway? So it started with a few backpacks, and then we thought, well, this could become more than we thought it would be." said organizer Louis Marcho.
Nearly 300 backpacks were given out today in Tunkhannock.
