'We start all over' – Owner of gutted Wayne County business plans to come back

Newswatch 16's Stacy Lange spoke with the owner, who is determined to rebuild after a devastating fire on Sunday.

WAYNE COUNTY, Pa. — A business that's been around for more than 30  years in Wayne County went up in flames over the weekend.

Bob Yedinak says he had only been home from work for two hours when he got an urgent call to return. What he saw when he pulled up turned his stomach.

"I was a little sick," Yedinak said. "32 years, and in an hour, it's gone."

Yedinak says the garage in Salem Township that housed his business, Bob's Excavating, was engulfed when he arrived around 8 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters had to fight the flames from high above.

The building, five trucks, and thousands of dollars worth of tools are all gone.

A state police fire marshal was called in to determine what caused the fire, but no answers have been provided yet.

Yedinak says he doesn't have any idea either.

"We were here all day picking cardboard and bailing it. At 6:00, we were done. We put the last bail in. I put the machine in the garage, shut the door, and everything was good. There was no smoke, no nothing, in the garage."

What was in the garage was Yedinak's livelihood. Fortunately, none of his clients' vehicles were damaged.

Yedinak built the garage by hand and the business over the past three decades. He's hoping insurance can help cover his losses because his plan is to get back to work.

"Put it back up. Hopefully, the insurance works out close. So, we start all over. I don't know what else to do."
