CHERRY RIDGE, Pa. — A Clarks Summit man died in a car crash late last week in Wayne County, state police at Honesdale said.

The crash that killed Vincent Palmieri, 69, happened Friday shortly before 3 p.m. on the Owego Turnpike in Cherry Ridge Township.

State police said the eastbound Palmieri swerved into the westbound lane to avoid rear-ending a car making a left-hand turn onto Schoolhouse Road, state police said.

Once he did, he collided head-on with an oncoming Buick, state police said.

Palmieri died hours later at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The driver and passenger of the Buick, James Miller, 62, and Bernice Roberts, 61, both of Simpson, were hospitalized with minor injuries.
