Vandals damage Honesdale pool

Borough officials believe someone deliberately cut a water line at the complex, causing damage to the bathhouse and filter area.

HONESDALE, Pa. — Someone vandalized the swimming pool in Honesdale, according to borough officials.

Authorities say a six-inch section of piping was deliberately sawed out of the plumbing system that supplies water to the pool.

The damage was discovered about a month ago and reported to Honesdale police.

Borough officials say the water from the vandalized pipe damaged the masonry foundation of the pool bathhouse and filtering area. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Honesdale Borough Police Department at 570-253-1900.

Officials hope to open the pool as scheduled on June 7.
