HONESDALE, Pa. — There was a steady stream of shoppers at Dave's Super Duper in Honesdale.
Shopping carts had many of the typical items one buys ahead of a snowstorm, along with some other necessities.
"Some food, some meat, hamburgers, hot dogs," said James Casey of Hawley.
"I think I am alright because I just have a certain amount of money to spend, that's it. What was the thing on your list that you was a must? To get milk. I always had to have milk," said Wanda MacLeod from Honesdale.
Store owner Dave Flederbach says he and his team try to plan ahead when heavy snow is in the forecast.
"We stocked up on the milk and bread and have some extra help coming in this afternoon because that's usually when people get out," said Flederbach.
Judy Romich says the snow isn't deterring her plans this weekend, but she was picking up some essentials just in case.
"I'm going to have my family up for dinner tomorrow, and it's always good to have some extra things," Romich said.
Judy Bannan says she was shopping now because she's planning to stay put at home.
"I have a car that's good and snow, but now that I've gotten older, I'd rather stay home where it's warm," said Bannan.
While there may be people stopping to shop on their way home, Flederbach expects there will be some last-minute shoppers when the flakes start to fall.
"I think they're just so used to the storms missing us that they're still thinking it's gonna miss us, but it doesn't look that way," said Flederbach.
And if you are one of those people, give yourself some extra time on the roads.
