A fire investigator says a furnace malfunction caused a small explosion that damaged a Wayne County restaurant.

PLEASANT MOUNT, Pa. — A fire investigator in Wayne County says a furnace malfunction caused a small explosion that damaged a restaurant Sunday in Pleasant Mount.

The fire started around 2 Sunday afternoon inside Red Schoolhouse Restaurant on Bethany Turnpike.

No one was hurt, but officials say the blast moved the building off its foundation.

The restaurant is closed indefinitely here in Wayne County.
