LAKE ARIEL, Pa. — A Wayne County man is being charged with homicide for the death of an infant.
Police believe Michael Crowl, 26, of Lake Ariel, shook a 3-month-old boy in his care when the child began crying last Thursday night.
Court papers indicate that Crowl was caring for the child in the home he shared with the baby's father and grandparents. Crowl woke the grandparents, who called 911 when the child began seizing.
The baby was flown to Geisinger Medical Center, where he died around 5 p.m. Monday.
A doctor's report indicates the baby died of shaken baby syndrome.
Crowl is charged with criminal homicide and is locked up without bail in Wayne County.
