WAYNE COUNTY, Pa. — A woman has been charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence after a deadly off-road vehicle crash that killed a man last November in Wayne County.
Police say Karson Mashatt-Canfield, 32, was under the influence when she drove off Callicoon Road and hit a guide rail in Damascus Township, northeast of Honesdale, last November.
Her passenger, Travis Canfield, 32, died after he was thrown from the vehicle and then hit by a car.
According to court paperwork, Mashatt's blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.
Mashatt was arraigned and charged on Friday. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 14.
