TEXAS TOWNSHIP -- Investigators said at least half a dozen acts of vandalism were the work of three boys, between the ages 15 and 17 who went on a three hour early morning spree.
Police said they started shooting out windows in the Honesdale area just after midnight Saturday.
The boys were arrested and charged with criminal mischief, and have already been released.
The victims spent Saturday morning picking up bits of glass and cleaning up the mess.
When Brett Burkle heard gunshots outside his apartment he had no idea his car was the target.
"I came out this morning and found the windows blown out, as well as my sisters car," Burkle said.
Burkle's place wasn't the only spot where vandals struck in and around Honesdale. At Baer Sport Center the "B" in the sign got blasted and several show room windows were shattered.
"Have to take the majority of our day and clean up after somebody else," said Nick Kimball, Baer Sport Center.
A jewelry store had something new in the window, a sparkling hole from what state police say was a BB or pellet.
At Wayne County Ford the sales manager showed us a bit of the ammunition that was used to damage three vehicles, which now can't be sold until they are repaired.
"Costs a lot of money to get these things fixed. And of course they are not available for sale today. We actually had a fellow stop this morning to look at one of the trucks," said Glen Kempinski, sales manager.
All of the victims we spoke to struggled to make sense of what happened: why somebody would cause so much trouble, for a momentary thrill.
"It is just upsetting that somebody would do this, when all we are doing is trying to make the community better through our business," said Kimball.
Workers at Baer say they wanted to spend today getting ready for Black Friday, not picking up glass.
