WAYNE COUNTY, Pa. — A man has been convicted of assaulting three federal correctional officers at a prison in Wayne County.
The assaults happened at USP Canaan near Waymart last year.
Officials say Thomas Waters, 37, of South Carolina, was being counseled for breaking a rule when he hit an officer in the head, and when other officers came to help, waters bit them.
The maximum penalty Waters faces under federal law for each offense is 20 years in prison.
