UPDATE: Woman's body found along Interstate 80 considered a homicide

State troopers say the body was found near the off-ramp for Interstate 80 East in White Deer Township.

WHITE DEER, Pa. — UPDATE:

State police now say the death of a woman who traveled through parts of the midwest and was found dead next to an off-ramp in Union County is a homicide.

Troopers have also identified her as Rebecca Landrith, 47, of Virginia.

Investigators say she was in Wisconsin and Indiana in recent days and has ties to several states but don't know how she ended up in Pennsylvania.

A death investigation is underway in Union County after a woman's body was found near the interstate.

State troopers say the body was found Sunday near the Mile Run exit (199) off-ramp for Interstate 80 east in White Deer Township.

The off-ramp was closed for several hours while police investigated.

Troopers said the victim was wearing blue maternity jeans and a purple shirt with a black leather jacket. The victim was not wearing socks or shoes.

The victim is described as a white female with brown hair, possibly of Asian or Native American descent, appears to be in her 20s to 40s, approximately 5'2" to 5'6" in height, approximately 120 to 140 pounds.

Troopers believe the victim traveled through Indiana and Wisconsin between February 4 and February 6.
