UNION COUNTY, Pa. — A boating accident has turned deadly in Union County.
Rescue crews were called to Silo Lane in Union Township just before 8 p.m. Saturday night after receiving reports of a boat capsizing in the Susquehanna River and two people in the water.
A man was found shortly after crews arrived.
Dive teams searched the water for about an hour and found a woman, later identified as 37-year-old Melissa Cummings, in the water.
She was taken to Evangelical Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her death is considered accidental.
