UNION COUNTY, Pa. — Swimmers looking to cool off at a state park in Union County will have to wait.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, elevated bacteria levels were found during routine water testing at R. B. Winter State Park's Halfway Lake in Hartley Township near Mifflinburg.
As a result, swimming is prohibited until bacteria counts fall to acceptable levels.
Day use of the park remains open daily from sunrise until dusk.
