Susquehanna County man charged after allegedly shooting mother-in-law

SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY, Pa. — A Susquehanna County man faces a slew of charges after allegedly shooting his mother-in-law in the leg on Saturday.

According to state police, Thomas Wood, 61, of Montrose, got into a fight with his wife and then dropped her off with her mother, Janice O'Brien.

As he was dropping her off, he got into another fight with a man and then threatened to shoot and kill him.

Troopers heard a gunshot and found O'Brien struck in the leg. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Wood faces attempted homicide, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and reckless endangerment charges.

He remains locked up in Susquehanna County without bail.
