HARFORD, Pa. — A New York man lost control of his SUV and crashed Sunday on Interstate 81 in Susquehanna County, state police at Gibson said.

Troopers said 28-year-old Edgar Ekure, of Baldwinsville, New York, "blacked out" while driving north through Harford Township just before 3 p.m. and crossed over into the southbound lanes. His Jeep Compass clipped a Subaru Impreza, which caused the Subaru to lose traction and hit the guardrail.

Ekure had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Two people in the Subaru — Nichole Charlton, 28, of Binghamton, New York, and Jared Hardies, 23, of Philadelphia — were unharmed.
