FOREST CITY -- Pork was on the menu Saturday afternoon at a fundraising event in Susquehanna County.
DG's Bar and Grill in Forest City put on a bbq pig roast to benefit local fire departments.
Organizers said the money raised will be used to buy oxygen and resuscitation masks for pets.
One of those kits was given to Forest City Area Emergency Services on Saturday in memory of fallen police officer Daniel "J. J." Lomax, who was electrocuted while responding to a crash last year.
"Last year we raised money for the police department and we have a scholarship fund. And we bought them tasers. And the year before that we had adopted a cemetery. So every year, we give to a different cause in the area," said Deb Giddings, the owner of DG's Bar and Grill.
The pig roast also included a Chinese auction, cutest pet picture contest, and music.
