Valentine's Day creations at farmers' market

Vendors at the Hometown Farmers Market in Schuylkill County are prepared for any last-minute Valentine's Day shopping.

TAMAQUA, Pa. — Valentine's Day is a week away, and it may seem like an unlikely place for it, but the Hometown Farmers Market near Tamaqua is bursting with love-filled treats for your special someone.

Vendors are showing off their Valentine's themed goodies, like Daniela Quesada, who owns Wiki's Cookies. She says this is her favorite holiday.

Every week, vendors spend countless hours preparing their products and treats for everyone to enjoy. With Valentine's Day coming up, the preparation becomes even more sweeter with the fun little treats vendors get to prepare.

Sabrina Newton is the owner and founder of Sabrina's Cheesecakes. She makes heart-shaped cheesecakes year-round, but they are an even bigger hit around Valentine's Day.

"Today, I have had many come in knowing that it's last minute. Orders are supposed to be due in by tomorrow to try and get, so I know what I'm getting ingredient-wise to get them all done in time," said Newton.

If sweets aren't your thing, Tina Wincek has Valentine-themed wreaths, which she crafts in hours.

"I make them all myself every holiday, every occasion," said Wincek.

So, if you're not feeling the traditional flowers or chocolate shop, you might browse the hometown farmers market to find something unique for that special someone.
