GIRARDVILLE, Pa. — A vacant home was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning in Schuylkill County.
Fire crews were called to the home along East Mahanoy Avenue in Girardville just before 6 a.m.
Girardville Fire Chief Frank Zangari tells Newswatch 16 crews were met with heavy fire and smoke when they arrived.
A nearby apartment building was evacuated as crews from neighboring communities worked together to fight the flames.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation in Schuylkill County.
