SHENANDOAH — Teachers in the Shenandoah Valley School District have given notice that they intend to strike.
Superintendent Stanley Rakowsky confirmed the Shenandoah Valley Education Association sent a letter to the district saying that they plan to strike on May 12.
The superintendent said that a strike will not affect the scheduled graduation date and that classes would still be held for seniors using substitutes.
The superintendent said the teachers union plans to meet this week.
