TAMAQUA, Pa. — A Tamaqua police officer has found himself on the other side of the law, facing a slew of charges related to child pornography and bestiality.
According to the Pennsylvania attorney general's office, investigators were alerted to inappropriate images of children allegedly shared by Christopher Cordes on social media late last year.
A search warrant indicates he may have confessed to multiple people online about being sexually attracted to children.
The man from Bloomsburg also allegedly sent photos of himself engaged in sexual activity with animals on the internet.
According to the Tamaqua police chief, Cordes has been suspended indefinitely from the department without pay and is locked up in Columbia County.
