SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. — Students in Schuylkill County celebrated "Día de Muertos," or Day of the Dead, to learn about different cultures.
The Mexican holiday honors loved ones who have died. 30 Schuylkill Haven Area High School students painted sugar skulls at Brushstrokes Art Studio. The skulls represent the souls of loved ones.
"I find that this is something that they need to really be exposed to, especially because when they develop these new perspectives about other cultures, it helps them better understand their own culture," said Sammantha Nelson, Spanish Teacher.
Day of the Dead celebrations continue through tomorrow.
