SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. — A former prison employee in Schuylkill County faces charges after she allegedly had sex with an inmate.
According to court papers, an inmate at SCI Frackville told investigators he had a months-long relationship with Jennifer Newberry.
Newberry, 48, of Frackville, allegedly smuggled a phone into the prison for the inmate and sent him intimate photos and videos of herself.
Investigators say Newberry abruptly resigned in July, prompting an investigation into her involvement with the inmate.
Newberry faces sexual assault and related charges and is scheduled for a court hearing next month.
